The Hawk-Eagles
Left to Right: The Hawk Eagle Takes Flight, The Philippine Hawk Eagle

The Hawk-Eagles

The Philippine Hawk-Eagle (Nisaetus philippensis) is among the world’s rarest raptors. With fewer than 30 breeding pairs remaining in the wild, it stands as a powerful symbol of what we risk losing.

This elusive hunter is known for its piercing eyes and striking crown of feathers. Mating for life, it nests high in the forest canopy, hidden from human view—secretive, proud, and fiercely wild.

Over the course of my career, I have become increasingly drawn to birds, their precision and power and their diversity, one of my favorite species is the Philippine Hawk-Eagle. I support the Haribon Foundation, which works to protect this endangered species as well as other indigenous Filipino birds. Through my sculpture, I donate 10% of all proceeds from the sale of my Philippine bird Sculptures to the charity.
